Poker Face is continuing Johnson’s hot streak, and its season 2 renewal suggests it’s not stopping anytime soon. It wasn’t an official punishment, but there was a sense of justice in it. When Katy survived, changing Poker Face’s formula, Charlie decided the best punishment for Davis wouldn’t be serving time, but losing the dream he thought he’d finally reached and having Katy take over and restore the Owens’ name in racing, literally leaving him in the dust. While he did something illegal, the accident was, unbeknownst to Kyle, Davis’ fault. The first plot twist in Poker Face episode 7 had Kyle admitting to his crimes out of guilt that he’d put his daughter in the hospital. Even when it seems like Charlie won’t be able to pull it off, the episodes always end with the perpetrators unable to get away with their crime, such as in Poker Face episode 3 when a radio host Charlie befriended revealed Mandy’s role in George’s murder. Another interesting aspect of Poker Face is that because Charlie is on the run, she tends to avoid law enforcement, and usually has to find a roundabout way to make sure the murderers get what they deserve each episode.
Unlike in the previous Poker Face episodes, episode 7 wasn’t a murder mystery because there was no actual murder, just an attempt.
